Delegation is the skill that separates founders who scale from founders who stall. And yet almost everyone struggles with it — not because they cannot, but because it feels wrong.
The guilt usually comes from one of two stories: “It is faster if I just do it,” or “I should not burden my team.” Both are traps.
The reframe is simple: every task you keep that someone else could do is a task you are stealing from your real job — leading. Holding on is not generous. It is a bottleneck.
Start with the tasks that are frequent, teachable, and low-risk. Document them once, hand them off, and resist the urge to swoop back in. Your job is to coach, not to rescue.
